The Ghost Gets Amped — Snappier, Lighter, and Ready to Pick Up the Pace
The Brooks Ghost Amp is a women's road running shoe that takes one of the most trusted names in daily training and injects it with a shot of pure energy. Built around an all-new DNA Hype midsole — Brooks' first PEBA-blended foam — the Ghost Amp delivers the cushioned comfort and trusted fit the Ghost family is known for, plus a level of responsiveness and propulsive snap that no Ghost before it has been able to offer. Lighter than the standard Ghost 18, equipped with SpringRamp geometry, a warp knit upper, and a Knockout Strobel construction that brings the cushioning closer to the foot, the Ghost Amp is the daily trainer that earns its place on both easy run days and tempo days alike. For runners who want the Ghost name with a seriously energized upgrade — this is it.
Warp Knit Upper — Lightweight, Breathable, Secure
The Ghost Amp features an all-new performance-focused warp knit textile upper — a lightweight knit construction that wraps the foot in a soft, breathable embrace that keeps things airy on longer runs without feeling loose or unsupportive. The upper fits closer to the foot through the forefoot for a locked-in, faster feel, while the back half of the shoe features a heavily padded tongue and heel collar that delivers the plush, comfortable step-in experience runners expect from a Ghost. An updated eyelet construction revises the lacing geometry for a more flexible, adaptive fit across the midfoot — accommodating natural foot movement without creating pressure points — while a gusseted tongue prevents mid-run shifting and keeps debris out on any surface. A sleek collar maintains a modern aesthetic, and the overall silhouette is noticeably lighter and sleeker than the traditional Ghost 18.
DNA Hype Midsole, SpringRamp Technology, Knockout Strobel — The Ghost's Most Energized Ride Yet
The engineering breakthrough at the heart of the Ghost Amp is its DNA Hype midsole — Brooks' first PEBA-blended foam, combining the plush cushioning comfort of traditional EVA with the lively, energy-returning properties of PEBA into one distinctly springy compound. The result is a midsole that cradles the foot on landing and delivers a genuinely responsive, propulsive push-off at toe-off — a feeling meaningfully different from any standard Ghost before it. SpringRamp technology builds a propulsive geometry directly into the midsole that amplifies the DNA Hype foam's responsiveness further, encouraging an energetic toe-off that adds noticeable snap to the stride — particularly useful on tempo days when a little extra pop matters. The Knockout Strobel construction integrates the strobel board directly into the midsole stack, bringing the cushioning layer closer to the foot for a more immediate, connected underfoot feel. At 6mm of heel drop and 37mm of stack height in the heel, the Ghost Amp sits in a well-cushioned but not maximalist range that keeps ground feedback present and the ride feeling lively. Strategically placed rubber outsole coverage provides durability in high-wear zones and reliable traction across everyday road surfaces.
