The evolution of the original Cloudsurfer Trail, the second generation arrives with computer-optimized CloudTec Phase technology engineered using Finite Element Analysis for an even smoother and softer heel-to-toe transition, improved heel fit and padded lining for a more secure and comfortable experience, a wider lacing system for improved lockdown across different foot shapes, and bigger chevron-shaped Missiongrip lugs for more confident footing on slick or uneven surfaces — all wrapped in a waterproof, protective, abrasion-resistant upper that keeps feet dry from the first puddle to the last. The Cloudsurfer Trail 2 Waterproof features a breathable, abrasion-resistant mesh upper with a waterproof membrane that seals out rain, puddles, and wet grass while maintaining the airflow needed to keep feet comfortable during extended efforts. The TPU overlays throughout the upper add meaningful protection against trail debris, rocks, and branches without adding excessive weight or bulk, and an extended TPU toe bumper provides targeted protection at the front of the shoe for the occasional rock kick on technical stretches. A wider, reengineered lacing system with improved lockdown provides a more secure, inclusive fit that works for a broader range of foot shapes and volumes, while a padded tongue and improved heel collar deliver a more comfortable and secure rear-of-foot fit than the previous version. An elastic lace stow loop keeps laces tidy on the trail, and a rear finger pull makes getting the shoe on and off effortless. Upper materials are made with recycled polyester and TPU for a sustainably minded construction.

The Helion superfoam base — with added olefin block copolymers (OBC) for improved cold-weather performance — provides shock-absorbing cushioning that remains consistent and responsive even in freezing temperatures, making this shoe a reliable all-season trail companion. Higher midsole sidewalls cradle the foot for added control on uneven ground, and the wide platform enhances stability across variable terrain. Underfoot, the Missiongrip rubber outsole delivers exceptional grip and traction across dirt, gravel, grass, wet rock, and light trail surfaces, with bigger chevron-shaped lugs in an updated geometry that bites more confidently into soft and slick terrain than the original version — while Missiongrip's proven durability (testing showed just 0.5mm of wear) ensures the outsole holds up across many miles of varied use. The removable insole features a slight heel contour for added support and can be replaced with custom orthotics if needed.
