Since 1973, the Arizona has been the defining two-strap sandal — and this classic suede leather version is the one that started it all. Soft, genuine suede leather gives it a beautifully understated, lived-in quality that only improves with wear. Tonal metal pin buckles keep the look clean and cohesive, letting the material speak for itself.
Suede is a split leather with a napped, velvety finish that is exceptionally soft to the touch and naturally flexible, conforming to the foot with a supple ease that smooth leathers can't match. The suede footbed lining extends that softness directly underfoot, while a natural leather insole adds lasting structure beneath it all.
At the core is Birkenstock's legendary cork-latex contoured footbed, made in Germany and built to mold to your unique foot shape over time. A deep heel cup holds the heel firmly in its natural position, interior and exterior arch supports cradle both sides of the foot, a transverse arch support stabilizes the metatarsal bones, and raised toe grips allow your toes to spread naturally — the same time-tested engineering that has made the Arizona one of the most trusted and beloved sandals ever made. A flexible, lightweight EVA outsole rounds out the construction with cushioning and durability underfoot.
