I recently wore my Alder Almas through two airports in one day, carrying heavy luggage, the first workout I've really given them. They came through with flying colors: no blisters! Wonderful toe room without looking big and boxy, a very flattering shape to the throat (? the space that the strap goes across). I generally don't wear flats because I walk out of them, and I really like the placement as well as the styling of the strap that sets it apart from many other mary janes. I agree with the previous reviewer about maintenance: it's hard to get marks to disappear. But these shoes are worth it. I wear a 9 or a 9.5 and the 9.5 fits me very well. It works as well with skinny jeans as with dresses and skirts.
The Alder Alma is a cute shoe that looks like a flat but offers the support of the ankle strap to help keep it on. It has the earth footbed, but I found this particular earth footbed to be less comfortable than others. The suede outside of the shoe is pretty when you take it out of the box but it scuffs up quickly, making the shoe look a little shabby, so requires a little extra care to keep looking good. It is a nice flat for holiday/dressy wear.
